If you’ve been browsing bathroom ideas lately, you’ve probably noticed the same trend everywhere: curtains are out, glass shower screens are in. Homeowners across Borehamwood WD6 are searching for terms like frameless shower screen glass or walk-in shower glass, and easy clean shower door as they plan 2026-bathroom renovations — and at Dev Enterprise, we’re seeing that demand first-hand.
We design, supply, and install bespoke shower screen glass in Borehamwood and across North London, using the latest glass styles and finishes homeowners are asking for this year.
Why Glass Shower Screens Are the UK’s Most Searched Bathroom Upgrade
A glass shower screen does more than replace an old curtain — it transforms how a bathroom feels:
- Instantly opens the space – no fabric, no rings, no cling. Just a clean sheet of glass.
- Looks brighter and more hygienic – nothing for mould or limescale to hide behind.
- Adds a spa-like, hotel-style finish – one of the biggest bathroom design trends heading into 2026.
- Increases home value – a well-fitted glass screen is a small upgrade that makes a big difference to buyers and renters alike.
2026 Shower Screen Trends We’re Installing in Borehamwood
Bathroom design has moved on fast this year, and our Borehamwood customers are asking for these looks in particular:
- Frameless glass screens Still the most requested style in the UK. No visible metal framing means light travels freely through the room, and your tiles and fittings stay the visual focus.
- Fluted and reeded glass A big 2026 trend — textured, ribbed glass panels that add privacy and character while still letting light through. Popular for en-suites and feature shower walls.
- Matte black, brushed gold & brushed nickel hardware Polished chrome is taking a back seat this year. Matte and brushed finishes are softer, hide water marks better, and pair beautifully with clear or fluted glass.
- Easy-clean toughened glass More homeowners are asking specifically for glass with an easy-clean, anti-limescale finish — a simple upgrade that saves real time on weekly cleaning.
- Sliding screens for compact bathrooms With many Borehamwood homes having smaller en-suites, sliding screens are a practical Favorite — no swing space needed, and they help contain spray in powerful showers.
Built to Last: Toughened, Safety-Rated Glass
However you style it, every shower screen we install starts with the same foundation: toughened safety glass, engineered to withstand daily use, steam, and temperature changes. It’s fitted with strong seals and secure fixings so there’s no leaking or movement over time — and if it’s ever damaged, it breaks safely into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is a frameless shower screen suitable for a small bathroom? Yes — frameless glass is one of the best options for compact bathrooms, as it removes visual clutter and makes the space feel larger and brighter.
- What’s the difference between frosted and fluted glass? Frosted glass gives an even, soft privacy finish, while fluted (reeded) glass has a ribbed texture that adds visual interest as well as privacy. Both are popular choices for 2026 bathrooms.
- Do glass shower screens need special cleaning? Not with the right coating. We offer easy-clean, anti-limescale toughened glass, which needs little more than a quick wipe to stay clear.
- Can you fit a shower screen to an existing bath or shower tray? In most cases, yes. We measure your existing space and design the screen to fit, whether it’s a bath screen, sliding door, or fixed panel.
